2. Scope
This policy applies to all employees, contractors, subcontractors, volunteers, and other representatives of AJ Cleaning & Property Maintenance, particularly those working in settings such as:
- Schools, childcare centres, and educational facilities
- Aged care facilities and disability support environments
- Community centres and public spaces frequented by children or vulnerable individuals
3. Child Safety & Protection Commitment
- All relevant staff must hold valid Working With Children Checks (WWCC).
- We have zero tolerance for any form of abuse, neglect, exploitation, or misconduct towards children and vulnerable persons.
- We promote environments where children feel safe, respected, and listened to.
- All incidents, suspicions, or allegations of harm will be reported promptly to management and, where required, the appropriate authorities.
4. Preventative Measures
- Mandatory child protection and safeguarding training for all relevant staff.
- Strict adherence to codes of conduct for respectful and professional behaviour at all times.
- Risk assessments conducted for worksites involving children or vulnerable persons.
- Supervision requirements strictly followed, with no unauthorised one-on-one interactions.
5. Reporting Obligations
All employees and contractors must immediately report any suspected:
- Abuse, neglect, or exploitation of a child or vulnerable person
- Inappropriate or concerning conduct by staff or contractors
- Breaches of safeguarding protocols
Reports can be made to a supervisor, manager, or directly to child protection authorities.
6. Continuous Improvement
We regularly review our safeguarding procedures and provide ongoing training to ensure our practices meet or exceed the latest legal requirements and community expectations.
